As of this morning, 88 large active wildfires are being managed and have burned 1,431,460 acres. Fire managers are using full suppression strategies on 84 of these wildfires., an update by the National Interagency Fire Center said.
Wildfires in the Northwest area continue to exhibit active to extreme fire behavior, with evacuation orders in effect on 15 fires, the fire agency said.

Several teams are managing multiple fire starts as complexes, it added.
Evacuation orders are also in effect for several fires in California, the Northern Rockies and the Great Basin.
There are currently 21,758 wildland firefighters assigned to wildfires nationwide, including 25 complex and 5 Type 1 incident management teams, nearly 500 crews, 1,280 engines, numerous aviation resources, and four modular Modular Airborne Fire Fighting Systems, or MAFFS, the agency added.
