Allstate has hired the chief technology officer of CVS Health, Zulfi Jeevanjee, into the newly created role of executive vice president and chief information officer. He will be responsible for all business- and consumer-facing technology at Allstate, advancing its technology platforms and enabling digital transformation across the company. He will oversee architecture and systems engineering and the technology Allstate uses for products, investments and internal shared services.
Jeevanjee’s extensive experience includes driving results in financial services companies as chief technology officer at Wells Fargo and as chief architect at Wachovia Securities and A.G. Edwards.
He joins Allstate on Oct. 10 and will report to Suren Gupta, EVP, Allstate Technology, Services & Ventures.

USAA has hired Darrius Jones for a new role as senior vice president of Enterprise Digital, Design and Innovation.
He will report to Ameesh Vakharia, USAA’s chief strategy and brand officer.
Jones returns to USAA with an expansive portfolio in digital capabilities, design and innovation.
In his past roles at USAA, he directed innovation companywide, including USAA Labs, which focuses on member and employee innovation, advanced research and innovation enablement.
In addition to his experience at USAA, Jones has served as a leader of digital, design, product management, marketing and innovation functions for several large companies including Charles Schwab, Poly, Cisco, Merrill Lynch and Computershare.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has named John Gambale as part of a reorganized Distribution team in North America to support large corporate business expansion. Effective Oct. 3, he will assume the role of regional head of Distribution NA, Large Corporate, based in New York.
He will report to Bill Scaldaferri, CEO and president, AGCS North America.
Rani Christie, formerly regional head of Distribution, Sales and Marketing for NA, will lead the Middle Market division, also reporting to Scaldaferri, based in Atlanta.
Gambale joins AGCS from AIG, where he has held various leadership roles over the past 23 years. Most recently, as president, Northeast Zone, he was responsible for executing on go-to market strategies in the New York Metro, Mid-Atlantic and New England markets with oversight of more than 200 underwriters across all major Property, Casualty, Financial Lines and Specialty product areas. Prior to that, he held various local and national leadership positions with AIG Financial Lines. Gambale began his corporate insurance career at Swiss Re.

Gallagher Re announced that Alexander Choniski has joined the global reinsurance broker in the newly created role of head of Embedded Insurance, in North America, within its Alternative Distribution vertical. He will be responsible for creating an embedded insurance solution for clients in North America and will work in partnership across all parts of the global Gallagher organization.
Choniski brings more than 18 years of diverse capital markets and insurance experience to Gallagher Re. He joins from his most recent role at Swiss Re, where he built and co-ran the Strategic Partnerships mandate—Swiss Re’s largest InsurTech and embedded reinsurance portfolio.
