Millers Mutual Insurance, a niche property/casualty insurer for multifamily housing, has named Jeffrey Pratt as president and chief executive officer, effective Sept. 16, 2022.
Pratt joined Millers as vice president, chief financial officer in 2015 and most recently served as executive VP, CFO and treasurer. Prior to joining Millers, he served in various financial division positions at Penn National Insurance, including the director of Financial Planning and Analysis. He started his career at what is now M&T Bank, where he progressed through various positions in both the retail and commercial divisions within the South-Central Pennsylvania and Baltimore markets.
Pratt has served on the boards of Hanover Day Nursery Inc. and Hanover Capital Management Inc. He is a Bridges Society Member of the United Way of the Capital Region and has led the Millers Mutual Charitable Giving Committee for the past few years.

Gallagher Re has appointed Steve Bowen to the newly created position of chief science officer within Global Analytics & Advisory.
Based in Chicago and with a global role, Bowen will also work closely with the new Gallagher Research Centre, Global Catastrophe Analytics, and the Climate and ESG teams. He will join the business on Oct. 3, 2022.
With a scientific background in meteorology and business analytics, Bowen began his career in broadcast television before transitioning his skills into the insurance industry in 2007. He joins following 15 years at Aon, where he most recently served as managing director and the head of Catastrophe Insight for the broker’s Impact Forecasting team. A frequent collaborator with governmental agencies, academia and industry groups, Bowen is highly respected and well-known across the risk and insurance spectrum as an expert in his field and has co-authored several peer-reviewed journals.

TransRe announced that Jim Crutchley has been named to the newly created position of global facultative leader. He will work with TransRe’s regional facultative teams and global product leaders to identify and execute market opportunities, streamline and standardize workflows, and accelerate data and analytics around market changes and claims trends.
Crutchley will report directly to Paul McKeon, president of Regional Business Units.
TransRe has promoted Stephanie Danbrowney to Crutchley’s prior position as head of U.S. Facultative Casualty. Since joining TransRe in 2018, she has successfully grown the U.S. facultative book and has built a strong market reputation for underwriting expertise and client service.
