Everest Reinsurance announced that Brent Hoffman will join the company as senior vice president, head of Claims and chief operations officer at the end of July. He will have dual responsibility for overseeing key aspects of business operations and leading the global Reinsurance Claims function.
Hoffman will report directly to Jim Williamson, Everest Group chief operating officer and head of Reinsurance.
Hoffman most recently served as AXA XL’s chief claims officer. Prior to that, he held several leadership positions at The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., where he led teams responsible for claims, litigation and settlement strategies. Hoffman also currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the RAND Institute for Civil Justice and the Board of Trustees for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.

Canopius Group has hired Serena Lee as its general council and chief risk officer, Canopius USA, a newly created position reflecting the company’s significant U.S. expansion.
Lee most recently was vice president, senior council – Corporate and Litigation with Ambridge Partners LLC (formerly Brit Global Specialty USA) and senior council for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.

Crawford & Company has appointed Nidhi Verma as chief people and environmental, social and governance (ESG) officer.
In her new role, effective July 1, 2022, Verma will work with company leaders to direct meaningful changes to the organization’s people agenda and employee experience, including culture transformation, employee value proposition, talent management, leadership development and total rewards. She will also be responsible for spearheading Crawford’s ESG initiatives, including the organization’s focus and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
