Global specialty re/insurer SiriusPoint Ltd. announced two internal appointments to the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
Patrick Charles has been promoted to global head of Property and Casualty Insurance & Services. He was previously head of Americas P&C Insurance. Charles joined SiriusPoint in 2021 from Zurich Insurance Group, where he held North American leadership roles in underwriting and strategy spanning the past decade. He also spent time at McKinsey & Company, Alliance Bernstein and the St. Paul Companies. He began his career as an actuary and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Charles also serves as a board member for a number of companies in the SiriusPoint strategic partnerships portfolio, including Arcadian, a managing general agent writing excess casualty, professional lines and property, and Parameter Climate, a full-service climate underwriting and distribution advisory firm.
Darryl Siry, the company’s chief technology officer, has been appointed to the Executive Leadership Team. Siry joined SiriusPoint in 2021 from ProSight Specialty Insurance Group, where he served as chief technology and operations officer. Before that he founded NewsBasis, an online service for PR professionals and journalists targeting small businesses. He also ran Marketing, Sales and Communications during the early growth stage at Tesla when the Roadster was launched. Prior to Tesla, he held various executive roles at Fireman’s Fund / Allianz.
Siry also serves as a board member for a number of companies in the SiriusPoint strategic partnerships portfolio, including Avinew Inc., auto insurance for drivers of semi-autonomous vehicles, LuckyTruck, a digital broker and aggregator specializing in commercial trucking insurance, and Broker Buddha, a commercial insurance technology platform transforming the commercial insurance submission process for insurance agencies and their clients.
Charles and Siry will both report to SiriusPoint CEO Dan Malloy.

Chubb has appointed Leigh Anne Sherman as specialty officer for North America Middle Market, the company’s commercial insurance business unit serving middle market companies in the United States and Canada. She currently serves as division president of ESIS, a Chubb Company and a leading third-party administrator.
Sherman steps into the role most recently held by Joseph Clabby, who will retire from Chubb in July after more than three decades of service. She will report to Ben Rockwell, vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America Middle Market. The appointment is effective immediately.
Sherman has been with Chubb for 25 years. Prior to serving as head of ESIS, she served as executive vice president of Chubb’s Private/Not-for-Profit Management Liability business within the North America Financial Lines business.
Jim Shevlin, who currently serves as regional executive officer of Chubb’s Southeast Region, will succeed Sherman as division president of ESIS. He will report to Matt Merna, senior vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America Major Accounts.
Shevlin joined the company, then named ACE, in 2002 and has a diverse background in sales, marketing, management and e-commerce practices in the insurance industry. Prior to his current role, he served as senior vice president, regional executive officer for ACE USA’s Southwest Region.
