The Hartford has promoted Richard Vaughn to head of Global Specialty Distribution.
He will report to Adrien Robinson, head of Global Specialty, who said that Vaughn’s “experience advancing key partner relationships and distribution strategies domestically and internationally will be key to evolving and scaling the organization.”
Vaughn previously served as vice president of Distribution Management for The Hartford’s Enterprise Sales & Distribution function. With a career that spans 20 years at The Hartford, he has held numerous roles of increasing responsibility across underwriting, sales, management and executive leadership spanning multiple business units and disciplines.

Chubb has appointed Miriam Connole as chief financial officer for Overseas General Insurance, the company’s international general insurance operations.
She will succeed John Jones, who is retiring from Chubb in March after 43 years with the company.
In her new role, which is effective March 1, Connole will have overall financial management responsibility for the company’s commercial property and casualty, traditional and specialty personal lines, and accident and health insurance businesses in 51 countries and territories outside North America. She will report to Juan Luis Ortega, EVP, Chubb Group and president, Overseas General Insurance, and to Peter Enns, EVP, Chubb Group and chief financial officer.
Connole currently serves as CFO for Chubb’s Europe and Middle East & Africa regions. Prior roles include CFO of Combined Insurance, a Chubb company, as well as senior finance positions at Burford Capital, Friends Life Group, RSA and AIG.

Alliant Insurance Services announced that Chris Murphy has joined the company as executive vice president, managing director. He will lead Alliant’s national surety platform that supports the bonding needs of domestic and international contractor clients.
Prior to joining Alliant, Murphy served as chief underwriting officer at Travelers Surety.
