Erie Insurance appointed Ronald Habursky to the role of senior vice president and chief investment officer, effective July 2.
Habursky joined Erie Insurance in 1999 as a fixed-income securities analyst, was promoted to alternative investment analyst in 2000 and later to portfolio manager, external investments, in 2008. Most recently, Habursky managed Erie’s fixed-income portfolio as vice president and senior portfolio manager.
Before joining Erie Insurance, Habursky was a financial analyst at GE Transportation Systems. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder through the CFA Institute. Habursky will be based in Erie Insurance’s home office in Erie, Pa.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance made Katrin Thiel its head of Claims in Germany.
She joins BHSI with nearly 20 years of industry experience. Prevously, Thiel was head of Claims at AXA Corporate Solutions in Germany. She holds a law degree from the University of Cologne.
Thiel is based in BHSI’s office in Cologne

Aon promoted Jose Peralta to the position of public-sector leader.
In this role, he will develop, plan and execute sales strategies and thought leadership for public-sector clients and prospects. In addition to this role, Peralta will continue to be a member of the Aon Weather & Climate Risk Innovation Group, where he specializes in complex placements that connect clients with insurance, reinsurance and capital market solutions that empower governments to more sustainably serve their constituents.
Peralta has more than 15 years of insurance industry experience and has been a part of Aon’s Public-Sector Practice at its inception. Previous to Aon, he was an underwriter at Affiliated FM, specializing in natural hazard-exposed property programs from a variety of industries. Most recently, Peralta has served as a director of the Public-Sector national practice group for eight years.
