A former Aon executive is signing on with QBE North America as its new president of Specialty & Commercial.
Tom Fitzgerald is taking on the new position in February 2020 after having served as chief executive officer of Aon Risk Solution’s global broking operations. He succeeds Jeffrey Grange, who left in December to become vice president for U.S. operations at Argo Group International Holdings.
As a member of the executive leadership team, Fitzgerald will report to Todd Jones, QBE North America chief executive officer. One of the largest businesses within QBE North America, the Specialty & Commercial division consists of a diverse portfolio of commercial property and casualty and specialty products and services focused on meeting customer needs across a broad array of segments and risk categories.
Fitzgerald will be tasked with fueling growth by maximizing QBE’s limited and preferred distribution strategy.
Jones said that Fitzgerald brings a number of valuable qualities to the job. “He’s an innovator who has made important contributions to the industry and I am confident that he will successfully lead this critical business into the future and have a positive impact on the overall organization,” Jones said in prepared remarks.
