A division of Liberty Mutual Insurance announced a major promotion. Crawford & Company said that its president, UK & Ireland will be retiring, and his replacement has been named.

Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Liberty Specialty Markets promoted Nicholas Garside to the role of Head of Bermuda Property.
Garside was slated to start his new role on Sept. 1 and be based in Hamilton. He will report Steve Horton, president, Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda.
Garside joined Ironshore Bermuda as Senior Vice President of Property in 2018 prior to its rebrand to Liberty Specialty Markets. During his 15-year career in insurance, he worked for Novae Bermuda as Deputy Head of Direct and Facultative Property. He also brokered property risks for Willis in London, Sydney and Bermuda.

Crawford & Company said that Clive Nicholls, president, UK & Ireland will retire from the company at the end of September 2019.
Lisa Bartlett, currently chief client officer, UK & Ireland, has been appointed to the position starting on Oct. 1, 2019. Nicholls will stay on to support the transition process through September.
Nicholls joined Crawford in 2009 as senior vice-president, global markets. During his time at Crawford he has held several senior roles and was appointed chief executive officer, UK & Ireland in March 2015.
A search for a successor to the role of chief client officer, UK & Ireland is now underway.
