Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd. has added a “chief technology officer” to its roster of executives. Venkat Krishnamoorthy will fill the newly created slot starting on Aug. 5, 2019, reporting to Group CEO Pina Albo and responsible for the ongoing development of Hamilton’s data-driven technology strategy and execution.
Albo told Carrier Management that the time was ripe for a group chief technology officer at Hamilton.
“Hamilton is based on the premise that data science and technology will transform the way risk is written,” Albo said via email. “We’ve been building a team of data and computer scientists, software developers and IT specialists since we were founded and are now at the point in our growth and development where strategy and execution should be managed on a groupwide basis.
Albo added that Krishnamoorthy will fill a crucial role at the company.
“Our mission is writing the future of risk,” Albo said. “Our CTO will be responsible for making sure that our data-driven strategy supports our mission and that we continue to leverage the deep insight gleaned from that strategy to meet the needs of our clients on a holistic basis.”
Krishnamoorthy has nearly 30 years of experience in digital technology, software development and operations, product development and engineering, Hamilton said. He was most recently at Coleman Research as that company’s chief technology officer. During his four-year tenure there, Krishnamoorthy led Coleman Research’s digital transformation and new SAAS product development.
Before joining Coleman Research, Krishnamoorthy was VP, Digital Technology, at McGraw-Hill Higher Education. He has also worked at Interactive Data Corporation as head of Software Development and Operations, Thomson Reuters as head of Platform Development, and CIBC World Markets as executive director.
