CapSpecialty appointed long-time Board member Jack Sennott to be its new chairman, president and CEO.
With Sennott’s ascent, Stephen Sills, Cap Specialty’s head of Professional Liability and Small Commercial P&C is retiring, though he’ll keep a financial interest in the company, according to CapSpecialty, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alleghany Corporation.
Sennott, in prepared remarks, credited Sills with “building a talented management team” at CapSpecialty” and sad the company, as a result, “is well on its way to achieving its goal of being the preferred specialty company for small and mid-sized businesses.” He added he’d continue efforts to propel further growth.
Sennott previously served as Alleghany Corporation’s Senior Vice President and chief financial officer since 2013. Sennott was Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Strategy Officer of Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG from January 2010 to April 2012. Before that, from October 2008 to January 2010, Sennott served as the Chief Operating Officer of Allied World Insurance Company.
From March 2003 to October 2008, Sennott was the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Darwin Professional Underwriters, Inc.
