Aon plc announced it has combined its Construction & Engineering and Inland Marine teams into a single, dedicated global unit within its Reinsurance Solutions business.
The new Global Construction & Inland Marine practice aligns with the approach of many reinsurance carriers that write these risks together, explained Aon.
Combining the talents of the two separate teams significantly enhances growth opportunities and allows the firm to appropriately resource the business and capitalize on best practice, the broker continued.
The initiative follows the recent launch of other Aon global practice groups – including the Cyber and Life practice groups – as part of the firm’s commitment to drive growth and value for clients.
The Global Construction & Inland Marine practice group will be led by Jonathan Conway, who worked for Gen Re for over 20 years, growing the firm’s Construction and Engineering portfolio. Prior to joining Aon in 2019, he worked at Willis in the UK property team from 2014-2018.
Nick Frankland, UK chief executive officer of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business, said: “This initiative is about bringing the best of our experts together to deliver enhanced revenue growth and service to clients in the Construction & Engineering and Inland Marine specialist sectors through a single, integrated practice group that supports account executives globally. The move highlights the continuing commitment of Aon to this important sector.”
In line with the firm’s Aon United ethos, the Global Construction & Inland Marine practice group will work in collaboration with construction and engineering colleagues in Commercial Risk Solutions, as well as Facultative colleagues, to share sector-leading knowledge and expertise and maximize growth opportunities, the company explained.
