The Hanover Insurance Group is debuting a customer-facing digital platform designed to help independent agents acquire new business customers including freelancers, contractors and others.
Dubbed Insurago, the platform runs on technology from CoverWallet, an InsurTech that uses analytics and state-of-the-art tech to help small businesses more easily buy insurance. The Hanover is initially launching its digital platform for freelancers, independent contractors and self-employed professionals who need professional liability insurance. With well over 100 classes of business, Insurago will help agents acquire a range of new customers including consultants, IT contractors, fitness professionals, allied healthcare professionals and others, The Hanover said.
Insurago allows agents to personalize the process by placing their own personalized link on their agency website or social medial channels. By doing so, customers can easily quote and issue an insurance policy through The Hanover. As well, Insurago lets customers interact with their agent to address questions or seek advice as part of the buying process, the insurer said.
Agents will have the ability to direct interested professionals in the aforementioned categories to their website or social media channels to issue insurance policies through the Insurago tool. The process, from start to finish, can be finished less than 15 minutes. Agents’ customers can view and print their policies and download insurance certificates online through the platform. Many businesses are required to provide these documents to new customers, The Hanover said.
The Hanover touts Insurago as the latest in an ongoing strategy developed with agents to serve customers more effectively and increase retention.
