AXIS Capital Holdings brought on an Allied World veteran to fill a new executive position. Everest Insurance has given one of its longtime executives additional responsibilities.

Kent Ziegler has been appointed at AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. to the newly created position of global corporate controller.

Ziegler will lead the company’s Group Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis and Finance Business Partnering teams, and will also serve as AXIS Capital’s principal accounting officer. His responsibilities will include oversight of SEC and other external reporting, accounting policy, corporate financial planning, and delivering insights and analysis to AXIS’s business segments. Ziegler will report directly to Peter Vogt, AXIS Capital’s chief financial officer.

Ziegler joins AXIS from Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, where he was senior vice president and chief financial officer, with responsibility for all financial matters worldwide and management of the finance team in many different geographic locations. Before Allied World, Ziegler was senior vice president and chief financial officer of retail real estate for JPMorgan Chase & Company and also served as senior vice president and CFO of its Business Banking Division.

Everest Insurance said that Christopher McKeon, currently vice president and head of Commercial Casualty, will take on additional leadership responsibility for the Risk Management business unit, which focuses on customized primary casualty large accounts.

Risk Management and Commercial Casualty will continue to join with the Workers Compensation, Multinational, Energy and Transportation & Logistics units to make up Everest Insurance’s Risk Management Group.

McKeon has 25 years of industry experience. Before joining Everest in March 2017 to lead the Commercial Casualty unit, he held various primary casualty roles at American International Group (AIG), including head of Primary Casualty for corporate accounts group.
