Beazley now offers a General Data Protection Regulation helpline for its Beazley Breach Response policyholders in the UK. The new offering comes through a partnership with international law firm DAC Beachcroft.

The new GDPR, which takes effect May 25, 2018, could lead to increased exposure to privacy and data breach liability risks for organizations worldwide. Organizations in the EU that process personal data, and those outside the EU that offer goods and services to EU citizens or monitor their behavior, are affected.

Beazley/DAC Beachcroft’s helpline service lets Beazley’s BBR policyholders in the UK connect for free with some of the UK’s foremost GDPR legal experts. Policyholders get guidance on what the regulation means for them and the steps they should consider taking to minimize the risks of noncompliance from DAC Beachcroft’s team. The Beazley helpline can also help policyholders determine the best use of their resources regarding compliance.

The Travelers Companies Inc. added new digital capabilities to its MyTravelers for Injured Employees workers compensation claims platform.

The web-based and mobile-friendly self-service tool for workers comp claims now offers two-way messaging between an injured employee and the Travelers claim team, including claim and medical professionals, which can help keep injured employees more engaged in the process to help accelerate their recovery.

Two-way document sharing will also be added to the MyTravelers for Injured Employees tool. Injured employees will be able to upload materials related to their claim, including state workers comp forms, work status reports, mileage trackers and medical reports.

The company also added a telemedicine capability, enabling qualified injured employees to conduct appointments with a physician via a secure video connection on their computer or smartphone.

Munich Reinsurance America Inc. launched its Smart Mobility Program, which includes a number of new tools to help reduce collisions for U.S. auto fleets.

Specifically, it is designed to address the complex issues surrounding commercial auto losses and to help reduce or avoid the risk of collision for commercial fleets. Smart Mobility includes LossDetect, an automated text-mining tool that analyzes automotive claims data and recommends potential courses of action. The LossDetect portal analyzes unstructured auto claims data to determine causes of loss and matches that with one or several of the Smart Mobility Program product options to assist in helping to reduce auto collision.

Those options include collision avoidance, telematics, driver coaching and advanced fleet monitoring.

The Smart Mobility Program is available to insurance company and broker clients, public entities, and small to midsize companies with commercial fleets. The LossDetect portal can be accessed by all commercial fleet owners and Munich Re America customers.
