An executive who once worked for American International Group, Zurich and XL will join Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group as CEO of its Hamilton USA arm.
Seraina Maag takes over the Hamilton USA CEO slot from Chief Strategy Officer and acting CEO Bob Deutsch.
Maag most recently was CEO and executive vice president of Regional Management & Operations at AIG, and was a member of AIG’s executive leadership team. She was also previously CEO of XL Insurance North America, and president of Zurich North America’s Commercial Specialties business, among other executive positions.

CNA has a new senior vice president, Customer Segments.
In his new role, Dieter Korte will be responsible for the profitability, growth and strategic direction of CNA’s Commercial customer segments, including Construction, Manufacturing, Technology, Financial Institutions, Professional Services, General and Emerging Segments and Programs.
Korte will report to Julie Stephenson, CNA Commercial’s chief underwriting officer.
Korte is a veteran Chubb executive who joined CNA earlier this year to lead its Manufacturing segment.

Validus Holdings’ Western World Insurance Group appointed Arya Yarpezeshkan as senior vice president, director of risk management.
The integrated risk management and strategic planning insurance industry veteran will oversee a small team of risk management analysts. He’ll also lead the building of a comprehensive risk management framework for several enterprise functions. Yarpezeshkan will report to Western World Chief Operating Officer Thad DeBerry.
Yarpezeshkan’s team will be based in the U.S. and help Western World expand its product scope.
Previously, Yarpezeshkan was chief risk officer at Navigators. Before that, he was chief risk officer and vice president of strategic planning for Tokio Marine Management in the U.S.

Kym Hubbard has been elected to the board of directors of State Auto Financial Corp.
Hubbard, a 30-year financial services industry veteran, recently retired as global head of investments, chief investment officer and treasurer for Ernst & Young, LLC. Her career includes leadership experience in private partnerships, insurance, government, investment banking, capital markets, banking and audit/public accounting.
Hubbart fills the Class I seat vacated by Alexander Trevor, who retired from the board earlier in 2016.
