XL Catlin turns to emerging markets with the appointment of a new vice president focused on the growing sector. Starr Companies, meanwhile, named a new chief underwriting officer for financial lines.

XL Catlin appointed Lauren Tennant Pollock to the position of vice president, Emerging Markets.
Tennant Pollock will be based in New York, with a team focused on delivering insurance/reinsurance products to developing regions around the globe. She’ll also be involved in a number of innovation projects, working with Sarah Street, executive vice president, Strategy and Innovation initiatives.
Tennant Pollock recently completed her MBA at Harvard Business School. Prior to this, she worked at Argo Group International, with responsibilities focused on emerging market operation strategy and product design. She also has prior experience from working at Guy Carpenter & Co. in treaty brokerage.

Starr Companies hired Beth Goldberg as its new chief underwriting officer, Financial Lines.
Goldberg will be responsible in her new position for sales, underwriting, profitability and growth.
She has more than 17 years of experience with international insurance companies and brokerages. Goldberg’s areas of expertise include director’s & officers liability, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability, crime, lender liability, security & privacy and kidnap & ransom.
