Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty made a number of executive appointments and changes. PartnerRe attracted a Munich Re veteran to a key executive role. JLT Specialty USA appointed a new senior vice president.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty made a number of executive appointments.
Thierry Portevin will become global head of Property, in the Chief Underwriting office for Corporate Lines. He takes over on Oct. 1, replacing Rachel Conran, who left in June. Portevin had been global head of Engineering since January 2013, and has been with Allianz Group since 2000.
Chris van Gend, meanwhile, will replace Portevin as global head of Engineering for AGCS, effective October. He is currently regional manager Engineering Asia, a position he has had since November 2013, and will move to Munich to take on his new position.
Tina Baacke will become global head of Risk Consulting, replacing Paul Carter, who is retiring at the end of 2016 after being with Allianz Group since 1994. Baacke is currently AGCS Global Head of Catastrophe Risk Management, and she’ll take on the new position on Jan. 1, 2017.
Baacke has been with AGCS since October 2010, when she joined as head of Catastrophe Risk Research and Analytics. She was previously with Allianz Re.

A Munich Re veteran joined PartnerRe as its new head of Global Client & Broker Management.
Jörg Bruniecki will be tasked with making sure that PartnerRe’s biggest multinational clients get a cohesive response to their needs, by managing its key broker relationships and rolling out a client-focused approach across the reinsurer. Bruniecki will report to Group Executive Committee member Charles Goldie.
Previously, Bruniecki was head of Corporate Client and Channel Management at Munich Re, where he had worked since 2001. While there, he managed a number of clients relations tasks including the strategic development of broker relationships, and helped develop Munich Re’s sales capabilities around the world.

JLT Specialty USA appointed Kathryn Carroll as senior vice president. She’ll be based in New York and focus on Energy (including Heavy Chemicals), and Financial Institutions.
Before JLT, Carroll was at Arthur J. Gallagher, where she was an area executive vice president with the Risk Management department. She also has prior experience with Marsh and Fireman’s Fund.
JLT Specialty USA is a subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson, a company that provides specialty insurance, reinsurance, and employee benefits focused on advise, brokerage and related services.
