QBE North America hired a former AIG human resources executive to fill a key human resources role. Argo Group appointed a new president of Argo Pro U.S. Ironshore Inc. named a new leader for its Marine Re division. W.R. Berkley Corp. hired a veteran executive to lead its fledgling high net worth division.

Shruti Patel, a former AIG human resources executive, has jumped ship for QBE North America where she will become its new chief human resources officer.
At AIG, Patel was most recently vice president, Human Resources. She has 20 years of human resources experience developed in leadership roles at American Express, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
Patel will be based in New York City, serve as a member of the QBE North America Executive Management Board, and report to David Duclos, QBE North America’s president and CEO.
Additionally, Patel will serve as a member of the QBE North America leadership team.

Argo Group International Holdings appointed Craig Landi as president of Argo Pro U.S.
In his new role, Landi will lead Argo Group’s U.S. professional lines business, which includes errors and omissions and management liability products sold through appointed retail and wholesale brokers. He’ll report to Steve McGill, group head of professional lines.
Previously, Landi was with Freedom Specialty Insurance, where he was president and chief operating officer. Over the years, he’s also held various senior leadership positions at Arch Insurance Group, ACE, CNA Insurance Company and AIG.

David Callaghan is the new president of Ironshore Inc.’s Marine Re division.
This is a promotion for Callaghan, who has served as vice president and senior treaty underwriter for Marine Re since Ironshore launched the division in 2009.
In his new role, Callaghan will oversee Ironshore’s global marine treaty portfolio and also promote Ironshore’s underwriting capabilities to new marine markets.
Callaghan will be based in North Carolina and report to Ironshore International Chief Underwriting Officer Tim Glover.
Before Ironshore, Callaghan held various leadership roles at carriers including Swiss Re America and Great American Insurance Group.

W.R. Berkley Corp. said it appointed Kathleen Tierney as senior vice president in charge of its new high net worth personal lines business.
Tierney is a 25-year property/casualty insurance industry veteran, Berkley said, with experience in underwriting, marketing, finance, strategic development and field leadership positions.
