American International Group named its former commercial chief science officer to become its latest commercial chief underwriting officer.
AIG also named executives to the new positions of global head of cyber, and presidents of credit lines and portfolio solutions.
As commercial chief underwriting officer, Madhu Tadikonda will oversee chief underwriting officers in AIG’s Commercial Insurance global product lines, and also make sure AIG coordinates underwriting throughout the business. He’ll also oversee the use of underwriting tools that harness AIG’s data assets and capabilities.
He joined AIG in 2013 as senior vice president in the company’s science arm. Before that, he was a partner at Oliver Wyman.
Tadikonda succeeds Tim Carter, who is now AIG’s president, portfolio solutions. In this new position, Carter handle portfolio insurance products for AIG commercial insurance clients, including small businesses, programs, assumed reinsurance and managing general agents. His focus will be to bring together AIG’s product expertise to develop products for these client segments.
Carter joined AIG as commercial chief underwriting officer in 2011, and previously held various senior underwriting positions for Zurich in North America and Europe.
Tracie Grella, meanwhile, has been named global head of cyber. In this new position, she’ll guide AIG’s expansion of full cyber risk insurance capabilities across all AIG product lines. Grella will also lead efforts to create innovative products and deliver expertise to help clients manage and minimize cyber risks.
Grella joined AIG as global head of professional liability in 2011. In this role, she helped grow AIG’s cyber insurance business, as well as its global underwriting strategy and implementation of global best practices. Previously, she was president of specialty professional liability.
Donna DeMaio was named president, credit insurance. Her job will involve overseeing a newly organized business line that includes AIG’s mortgage insurance business, United Guaranty Corporation, as well as political risk, trade credit and surety.
Right now, she’s CEO and president of United Guaranty Corp., and will maintain that position. Previously, she was chief operating officer. Before AIG, she was president and CEO of MetLife Bank, and a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

CNA promoted Liz Aguinaga to be its new chief human resources officer.
Aguinaga, who will also have the title of senior vice president, will be charged with strategies and operations for global human resources across CNA.
She first joined CNA in 2010 as a vice president and human resources business partner. Previously, she served nine years in both recruiting and human resources generalist functions at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

Willis Group Holdings promoted Julian Vero to the position of regional leader of natural resources in the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa regions (CEEMEA).
In his new role, Vero will be responsible for driving growth in the CEEMEA regions by promotion Willis’s expertise and analytical tools to clients and prospective customers in the natural resources sector. He’ll begin his new job, after a transition, on Jan. 1, 2016.
Veru has been with Willis since 2013. He previously worked for JLT, Guest Krieger and Marsh. Currently, his work for Willis focuses on energy liability in the global natural resources team in London.

Hiscox Re’s Insurance Linked Strategies division – Kiskadee Investment Managers – has made some new executive appointments.
Andrew Hughes will become ILS chief compliance officer and general counsel, and Matthew Swann has been named portfolio manager. As well, Michael Jedraszak, who was director of ILS since Kiskadee’s formation, is now chief investment officer of Hiscox Re Insurance Linked Strategies.
Hughes comes to Kiskadee from Australia’s QIC Limited, a state-owned investment manager, where he was senior legal counsel. He’ll be based in Bermuda and will advise on legal and product structuring areas and also be responsible for ILS compliance.
Swann most recently was in Hiscox Re’s London office, where he was senior non-marine treaty underwriter. He joined Hiscox in 2007 as a catastrophe-modeling analyst.
