A veteran of Allianz and Travelers joining QBE North America as its new senior vice president, commercial property/casualty.
In his new role, Walter Grote is leading QBE’s commercial lines insurance business, which includes small business to middle market segments. He also helps shape delivery of client-focused products and services in the specialist insurance/reinsurance realm.
Grote most recently was at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, where he was senior vice president and zone leader for the Midwest region. Grote is also a 25-year veteran of Travelers, were he served in a variety of executive roles involving commercial insurance.

Dewey Gantz has been named vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer at Sentry Insurance, a mutual insurer based in Wisconsin that sells property/casualty insurance and other products for businesses and individuals nationally.
Gantz joined Sentry in 2013 as assistant vice-president, chief accounting executive. He has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, including stints in executive roles at Erie Insurance and Nationwide Insurance.

Insurance broker Hub International Ltd. has hired a Marsh veteran to run its newly launched, wholly owned subsidiary focused on growing program underwriting and specialty business.
Chris Treanor will be president of the subsidiary – Specialty Program Group – and also serve as president of programs and specialty products.
Treanor most recently served as president of Preferred Concepts, LLC, an underwriter and wholesale broker bought by Alliant Insurance Services over the summer. He also co-founded Mercator Risk Services Inc., a national wholesale brokerage firm. Treanor is also a 20-year veteran of Marsh. While there, he served in brokerage, sales and office management roles, and ultimately became CEO of the global placement operations and member of the board of directors and management committee.
