A veteran executive from Chubb is joining QBE Insurance as managing director of its Asia Pacific region, effective Sept. 1.
Mark Lingafelter’s new responsibilities include continued execution of the growth strategy for QBE Asia Pacific, plus an ongoing focus on developing new business for the group. He’ll oversee underwriting and distribution, and manage all of QBE’s Asia Pacific operations. More broadly, he will help fuel QBE’s Asia Pacific growth strategy.
Previously, Lingafelter held various executive positions with Chubb Insurance in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, and the United States, and is a 30-year veteran of the company. Most recently, he was managing director and CEO of Chubb’s Australian operations.

SCOR has hired on a new chief operating officer.
Nicolas Tissot took on the position as of Aug. 31. He’ll report to Chairman and CEO Dennis Kessler, and also serve on the SCOR group executive committee.
Previously, Tissot was financial director and an executive committee member at Alstom. He also held a number of executive and financial management positions at the ENGIE group in Belgium and France.
Kessler said in prepared remarks that Tissot and his skills “will be major assets for SCOR” as it rolls out its ongoing strategic initiative known as the “Optimal Dynamics” plan.

Hamilton Underwriting Ltd., the Lloyd’s managing agency of Bermuda-based holding company Hamilton Insurance Group, hired Trevor Carvey as head of treaty.
In his new job, Carvey will lead development of the syndicate’s reinsurance treaty portfolio. He’ll report to Dermot O’Donohoe, chief executive officer of Hamilton Underwritng Ltd.
In a prepared statement, O’Donohoe said that Carvey will help Hamilton move ahead with its product diversification.
Hamilton acquired Syndicate 3334 in April, and Carvey will help further its development, O’Donohoe added.
Previously, Carvey was based at Markel Europe, where he was executive vice president and chief underwriting officer. He has other leadership experience from Markel, as well as at companies including Harbor Point Re/Alterra Re UK and Arch Reinsurance Ltd.
