GEICO is Launching a national RV tour, starting with the Daytona 500 .

The Berkshire Hathaway (and Warren Buffett)-owned company, which is also the second largest private passenger auto insurance company in the U.S., plans to take its GEICO RV across the country to 15 NASCAR, RV and motorcycle related event from late February through November.

GEICO RV stops first at the Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Fla., from Feb. 20-22. Various stops will follow through the summer and fall, culminating with an appearance at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Fla. From Nov. 20-22.

For GEICO, the advertising tour makes sense. The insurer covers motorcycles, boats, all-terrain vehicles, travel trailers and motorhomes, among other things. In an era where online and other high-tech marketing is gaining more attention, it is also a basic approach in terms of reaching clients. The stops will also include games and giveaways with a focus on promoting road and highway safety as well as RV maintenance.
