Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. has picked a new chief financial officer, choosing to fill the position from within.
The Bermuda-based reinsurer and insurer disclosed on Dec. 5 that Scott Kirk has been promoted to the position, effective immediately. Kirk was most recently CFO of Aspen’s insurance business and is widely credited with helping to grow Aspen’s U.S. insurance operation. He has also served in positions including Group Financial Controller and Group Head of Finance.
Aspen CEO Chris O’Kane said in a statement that Kirk is a “highly talented strategic thinker and key financial leader” who will help the company continue to implement its strategic plan.
Kirk replaces John Worth, who will be leaving Aspen. The company gave no explanation for Worth’s departure, though O’Kane said in a statement that he “strengthened the operational side” of the company’s finances and enhanced Aspen’s “expense discipline.”
Aspen made another executive change in September, naming veteran employee Stephen Postlewhite as its next CEO of Aspen Re.
