Canal Insurance Co. has announced the appointment of Tim Horgan, vice president of transportation and chief marketing officer, and Bob Pace, vice president and chief claims officer, to the executive leadership team.
Horgan assumes profit and loss accountability for all Canal’s trucking and specialty automobile business except the large fleet unit. He will also be responsible for all phases of marketing, agency relations and communication. Horgan previously held underwriting, marketing and regional management positions at Continental, followed by nearly 20 years in AIG’s transportation business, the last seven as profit center head, Canal said in a statement.
As chief claims officer, Pace will provide strategic and operational leadership to all aspects of Canal’s claims organization. He joins Canal after a diverse career, including 11 years as a practicing attorney, followed by another 12 years of increasing responsibility in the Travelers claims department, the last six of which he served as chief claims officer for Northland.
Pace’s last role in the Travelers organization was to lead the Northfield underwriting organization.
“Attracting individuals of Tim’s and Bob’s caliber to Canal underscores our leadership position among transportation insurers, and our commitment to making the investments necessary to strengthen that position,” said David J. Firstenberg, president and CEO of Canal Insurance Co.
