ACE Chairman and CEO Evan Greenberg is leading a U.S. delegation of executives to Southeast Asia with a focus on promoting mutual business opportunities.
Specifically, he’ll be bringing CEOs from the US-ASEAN Business Council to the Philippines and Vietnam. Greenberg chairs the group. Adding muscle to the mission: U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker will also take part. Plans call for having the group meet with leaders of both nations as well as with local business leaders.
The trade delegation will include CEOs from a variety of industries.
Greenberg leads one of the world’s largest multiline property/casualty insurers, and ACE under his leadership has focused significantly on expansion in Southeast Asia. In April, ACE, working with a local partner, finished its acquisition of a 60.9 percent stake in The Siam Commercial Samaggi Insurance PCL from Siam Commercial Bank in Thailand. Plans call for acquiring the rest of the company in the 2014 second quarter in a deal valued at about $190 million.
