The insurance industry conference landscape has more than just shifted over the last few years; it has changed radically. InsureTech Connect had become the “must-attend” event, attracting attendees from all around the world until 2020, when COVID brought the world to a stop. No traveling, no gathering. We were all stuck behind our screens. So, after 18 months without in-person events, InsureTech Connect was a happy reunion. You could see the smiles under the masks, and the energy of people being together was palpable.

And while I was happy to see so many familiar faces, most of the unfamiliar, and younger, faces were from InsurTechs. Fewer were from incumbent, established insurers—and I believe that is a missed opportunity for the industry and for ITC.
