In 2017, Church Mutual Insurance Company was recognized for its Sensor Technology program with the “Award in Innovation” by the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies and by Celent with a “Model Insurer Award for Innovation and Emerging Technologies.”
Understanding the unique operations of houses of worship, and that many are not staffed 24/7, Church Mutual introduced the Sensor Technology Program to set up temperature and water sensors in vulnerable areas of insured buildings or in areas where priceless and often irreplaceable items are stored. The sensors are monitored remotely, so no one has to be on the premises. Alerts are sent via text message, email or phone to one or several contacts if a temperature or water sensor relays a low temperature or presence of water reading.
