As technology takes over nearly every tenet of daily life, there is growing concern that jobs may be at stake. Could jobs in underwriting, claims and other areas of insurance soon be taken over by artificial intelligence (AI) and robots?

In 2013, Oxford University researchers Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael Osborne released a report: “The Future of Employment: How Susceptible Are Jobs to Computerization?” Underwriters, claims adjusters, insurance appraisers and agents were among the top jobs to be replaced by computers among all occupations.
